CAS/SASS kit

Postby Dees » Wed May 03, 2017 5:23 am

Been acquiring things off and on over the years to try and replace what I sold back in Kansas, now I am set enough to go and shoot, just need to find a club to play with!
My 1851 Colt Navy "Marshall" and "Sheriff", both in .44 caliber percussion. These were made by Pietta and have been out of production for at least 8 years, so I was thrilled when I stumbled across them in a pawn shop at reasonable prices!

My H&R Shikari .45-70, Rossi Model 92 in .45 Long Colt, my 1860 Remington/Beals New Model Army in .44, a brass framed copy in the same and my 1851 Colt Marshall and a brass framed 1851 "Confederate" Colt Sheriff in .44 that has gone through a bit of a change since then:

The brass framed 1851 mid transformation. I have cut the barrel so once I finish truing it and crowning it to 2.5" I can add the birdshead grip that I want and make a "Avenging Angel" out of it:

Gunfighter's rig I am making myself with the Remingtons in it:

The collection is nearing completion with the addition of an old Rossi Overlander SxS shotgun:

NICE! What category are you planning to shoot?

I shoot supported with two hands! What ever category that is.

Unless we are doing Cowboy fast draw.

The porch is pretty laid back :)

Since I'm shooting percussion, I have to shoot one handed "duelest", so I have been practicing right and left hand separately, which has been a challenge with me trying to rebuild the strength in my left arm. I use my brass framed Remington 58 left handed and the all steel one in my right and even tried double duelest, but I have a feeling I am going to stick with right handed duelest only for a while since I'm a whole lot more consistent with that one. These weight a bit more than my 1911 so it's a bit of a learning curve.
